Is it worth me buying a drinks package ?

I am asked almost on a daily basis should I buy a drinks package ?

Well the answer to that is it depends how much you drink.

It is impossible for me to make that decision for you so my advice would be to check out the drinks prices on our website and try and work out whether you think it would benefit you.

I do like a few cocktails on holiday and enjoy a bottle of wine with dinner so for me it would be worth taking the package. It also takes away any concerns whilst on your cruise of how much you are spending and what the final bill will be. When I go on holiday I have what I want and worry about it when I get back which is why my clothes are a little tight and my bank balance is a lot less healthy but that’s what we work hard for isn’t it.

If you have the occasional cocktail or glass of wine with dinner in most cases it isn’t worth purchasing the drinks package. I spoke with a lovely customer a few weeks ago who had purchased the package but felt they had lost a lot of money and it would have been better to have bought drinks on an individual basis and they also felt they were drinking more for the sake of it to try and get their money’s worth.

It also depends on the cruise line as the packages range from as little as £10 per person per night to about £40.00pp per night.

Even if you don’t drink alcohol I would imagine £10 per night is still a very good deal.

MSC offer one of the best packages as it includes almost all of your drinks apart from a few selected spirits and also includes speciality tea and coffee’s and delicious home-made Italian ice-cream for as little as £20.00pp per night depending on where you are cruising. The staff are very obliging and even though officially wine is served by the glass our waiter always brought the full bottle and offered more when it was finished. The staff in the bars offered double measures for anyone who wanted them.

P&O so far have not introduced an all inclusive package which surprises me considering virtually all of their competitors have. I really hope they do in the future and especially before my cruise with them for New Year 2015.
