A few days ago, it was announced that Royal Caribbean will be launching it’s latest Oasis class ship which will be called ‘The Wonder of the Seas’ in 2021. She is set to break records and become the largest ship in the world. This will be the first Oasis class ship to sail the fantastic itineraries that the Far East has to offer. The other Oasis class ships include Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas who all predominantly sail the Caribbean (although have some seasons in Europe).
So, what is so Wonderful about this ship?
The ship will be very large like the others in the Oasis class at 225,000 gross tons and hold more than 6,000 passengers. This means a huge wealth of bars, restaurants, facilities and entertainment will be available for all guests. It promises amazing experiences, entertainment and use of the latest technology. The Wonder of the Seas will include seven neighbourhoods like the others in the Oasis class, so guests will get the feeling of being on-board their very own floating cities!
How will sailing on a ship based in China compare to previous Royal Caribbean cruises I’ve been on?
It is important to be aware before you book a cruise from China that it may be different from cruises you may have previously been on in destinations such as the Med and Caribbean. The majority of guest on-board will be local to the region so although English will be widely spoken by staff members, there will be announcements in other languages as well and many fellow passengers may not speak English. The entertainment, food and activities on-board will be aimed towards local tastes. This is fantastic if you want to immerse yourself whilst on the cruise ship as well in local traditions, entertainment and food but something to consider if you would not like this experience on-board.
