Something a little different on a Canaries Cruise

For those of you Winter Sun Cruise lovers out there who may be thinking that you have done the Canary ports of call to death. Here is a different kind of pastime for you to enjoy whilst visiting these stunning Islands.

WINE TASTING.   Other than the sun and sand beaches the wine of these regions are becoming more well-known, famous for its distinct floral flavours. There are three Islands that you can expect to find good wine.

Tenerife has over 50 wineries so lots to choose from. Each offering wine tasting and  information  at all of them.

Lanzarote. Winemakers here dig deep into the black volcanic soil until they reach fertile ground and build small walls around the vines to protect from the winds. You will see these scattered all over the Island. Lanzarote is home to Booegas El Grifo the oldest vineyard in the Canaries.

El Hierro (Fred Olsen calls in go this port). Is a tiny dry Island and has been producing wine since the 17th century.

So spread your wings away from the craft shops and relax over some amazing wine.
