MSC Fantasia – my little holiday.

As I am sure you remember I recently took a girlie week on the MSC Fantasia. This was my choice and paid for with my own cash. I agree we are very lucky to experience a vast amount of different lines paid for by my Company so budget was the main concern on this one. I have talked about MSC quite a lot in the past but I cannot get across just what value for money they are. We booked the package with free flights from Gatwick to include transfers from Genoa to the port which is only a 20 minute bus ride away. Genoa is a big dirty working port and looked rather run down at first but once inside the terminal building it was very light and airy with elegant touches of local architecture. Checking in was a breeze and we were soon on board in our lovely B2 Balcony cabin.armonia
To us as with most people dining is the best part of our cruise so be in a lovely restaurant with friendly waiting staff is very important. We were on 930 sitting in the Red Velvet restaurant which had a feel of 50 shades of grey with its deep red furnishings and cosy booths. We could have not been better looked after and we had first class service. I did feel the staff did have a lot of tables to look after and I walking talking to a waiter who had obviously worked for an American cruise line previously as he was very different in his approach. Again this comes down to our saying about MSC it is the Mediterranean Way more laid back.waiters
You can see that they were all full of fun and never missed a chance for a photo opportunity.
Red velvet was a two tier restaurant and the largest of two formal dining rooms which is in a mid ship location. Il Cerchio d’Oro is a smaller panoramic dining room at the rear of the ship which was very light and decorated in gold tones with amazing light fittings. We enjoyed this for lunch on sea daysus
