Crown Princess to the Rescue.

As you will know if reading my blog I am very excited to be going on the Crown Princess next week for a four night break with the girls. So how interested was I to read that she is not only an amazing cruise liner but a hero.

The Crown Princess came to the rescue of 100 Syrian refugees including a pregnant women who gave birth moments after being taken to hospital in Catania.  The refugees were fleeing the fighting in Syria and were trying to cross the Mediterranean in a small boat.  They were spotted adrift just off the coast of Sicily.

Crown Princess was in the middle of her two week cruise when Italian Coastguards called for her help.  The 44 children 20 women and 94 men were loaded onto her and given food,water and medical attention. They were delivered safely to the Port of Syracuse.

It is lovely to hear heart warming stories and know what a hero Crown Princess is.
