In my last blog I mentioned our annual Company Conference or 3 day Christmas party as my husband called it. But yes I must admit Cruise.Co.UK certainly know how to look after and reward its staff. It was a conference so daily between 9 and 5 we all attended and listened to Mangers, Directors, Guest Speakers and Suppliers talking about various cruise related topics. It was carried out in a fun and entertaining manner while being of great interest. But the free time that followed was also fun is so many ways.
Firstly this was my first experience of Fred Olsen’s Balmoral and I did not know what this would be like. Although an older and very much smaller ship to what I am used to the Food, Service, comfort and entertainment made up for that on so many levels. I would most certainly try Fred again for my personal holiday. We were allocated an ocean view cabin on deck 4 and I was amazed at the size of the room, bathroom and the window. The bed was one of the best I have ever slept in. Although dated it was perfectly clean and very comfortable.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner were excellent with a very good choice and was very fresh and tasty. The staff I think are what make Fred Olsen nothing is too much trouble. They always had a smile to greet you with.
As I mentioned this was a 70’s themed party cruise and we were told this is compulsory. Not many are comfortable with fancy dress but oh my I could not believe my eyes everyone went full out and made an amazing effort. Our Directors were the Bee Gees and looked so cool. Just a taster for you
That was the first night the next was a formal then a casual but great fun was had by all. We had a Christmas Jumper day too, again everyone took part
I must say I had a fantastic time and really enjoyed meeting old and new work colleagues and of course our Team Managers who are always available offering help and support to so many of us but never making us feel they do not have time for us. So here they are.
