Elvis was in the building – well on the MSC Fantasia

Well I bet that got your attention it certainly did mine.

On our ladies cruise last week (more about that next time) we noticed a lot of people in Elvis T shirts and posters saying Elvis Matters. One day in Malta a tour group passed us but not with an MSC tour guide but Elvis Matters. What is this we all thought. Well that night in our cabin along with the usual daily programmes was an invite to attend a free concert organised by Elvis Matters as a tribute to the King himself. I was brought up on Elvis and as parents were avid fans so I thought this would be an enjoyable 40 minutes or so like most cruise ships shows so the six of us decided to go along.
I had been on a Donny Osmond Fan Club cruise a few years ago so I had an idea that this must be something along those lines. Yes it was, Elvis Matters is the official Dutch Elvis Fan Club and they had various events planned throughout the cruise. This was the only one the general public
were invited along to see.elvis matters

Now the picture on the flyer is a young Dutch man name Bouke and looks more like Michael Ball than Elvis but oh my world you should hear him sing.
He did not try to look like Elvis by wearing the white suites or leather trousers but the voice was AMAZING. All our eyes widen and mouths fell open some even whispered he must be miming. BUT NOOO it was so real the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end and this guy performed for over 2 hours
none stop taking us all down memory lane. It was fantastic, although he did not sing my personal favourite Wonder of You (makes me cry and think of my Mum).
Since my return I have looked him up and he started to sing at a very young age to songs he listened to played by his Father who was a Elvis, Tom Jones and Jackie Wilson fan. He then won a Dutch talent show where is Elvis and this is where the Elvis Matters fan club found him. He did a show in Graceland on the 16th August 2012 which is the anniversary of Elvis’s passing which he got a standing ovation. He has played in Vegas and is very much in demand.
Just thought I would share this with you.msc f girls
