What the Heck’s an Esplanade?

We’ve all been waiting for Quantum Of The Seas and  she’s due to be launched from Southampton on the 02nd November for her maiden voyage where she will be then be sailing to her home town of Cape Liberty before heading off to the Far East. Royal Caribbean really know how to push the boundaries and they always WOW us with their new inspirations, technology and so much more. Royal Caribbean have also confirmed that on their newest ship she will feature a Royal Esplanade which will replace the Royal Promenade.

This is a first with Royal Caribbean, most of their ships have what we call the “Royal Promenade” which is like an internal ‘street’ that is in the centre of the ship with Promenade cabins overlooking.

Now the difference with “Royal Esplanade” is it certainly doesn’t have cabins overlooking it like the rest of RCCL ships. The Quantum will have a two-deck high walkway passing through the centre of the ship, which are linked by staircases. It will have has dining rooms, retail and entertainment venues on either side.

The Royal Esplanade will be the heart of Quantum Of The Seas where you’ll be able to discover a whole new world of possibilities. This striking winding multi-level thoroughfare is lined with beautiful boutiques where you will be able to find shops such as Cartier, Kiehls and Tag Heauer. There will be restaurants such as Michaels Genuine Pub, Wonderland and Chops Grill, also lots of bars such as the Boleros Latin themed bar, Two70 and the Royal Theatre. Around every corner you will find something new that inspires you – whether it’s a live performance, modern art that will ignite your imagination, a drink at a bar and watch the world go by to a perfect gift for a loved one or for yourself. This ship has everything you could ever dream for, there will be something for anyone and everyone.
