It’s amazing what things you can buy/do on a cruise ship to what we take for granted when at home. How many times do we get on board and think sugar I wish I had my hair done, nails or I really could of topped up my Botox before my cruise. Well would you believe on a cruise it is just like being home from home. The amount of services/treatments you can have on board is surprising .

Let’s have a look at some facts :

  • Hairdressers : Yes ladies there is nothing better than indulging on a new hairdo for that special gala night when you are on board. Whether it’s a glamorous up do for evening or just a great cut, new colour or deep conditioning, maybe even just  a few highlights, and whilst your there don’t forget to give your hands and feet some attention with a luxurious manicure and pedicure. You’ll be feeling brand-new from head to pampered toe in no time.

  • Acupuncture : Celebrity cruises seems to be the only cruise liner that offers acupuncture- which is there Acupuncture at Sea program, they have two to four doctors of Oriental Medicine who offer treatment for pain management, smoking cessation, weight loss and stress management; present lectures about acupuncture, feng shui, nutrition and healing with herbs; and diagnose and treat specific syndromes with medicinal herbal formulas.

  • Botox/Fillers : Well I won’t lie, yes I have had Botox, being 46yrs and a lady I will have to say it does help keep those wrinkles away-maybe not for long but it is doing the job in a short term. Now most cruise liners do offer cosmetic surgery whilst you cruise and to be honest it can be a lot cheaper to have these treatments done at sea rather than at home.

  • Shave : This one is for you gentleman – Isn’t it about time you enjoyed a professional shave, how about experiencing one of Cunard’s full Victorian close razor shave. It could be a bit tricky at sea, just imagine a bit of a jolt/movement and that’s it- I am only joking !

  • Walk your dog: Yes well I do have one which I hate leaving at home, but would you believe if you do a transatlantic cruise on Cunard you can actually take your beloved pet with you. They actually allow you to take your dogs on board and you can walk them whilst on your cruise.

  • Fencing :  Fencing lessons are given on Cunard’s – the Queen Victoria, they are normally held early in the morning – If you would like to participate you really need to be there early, fencing lessons are very high in demand.

  • Cycling:  Well would you believe Thomson Cruises actually carries their own mountain and touring bikes on-board. They offer guided bike rides in many destinations in conjunction with Star Bikestations. The four- to five-hour rides include breaks for sightseeing and picture-taking. Whether you’re a novice cycler or an experienced racer, there will be a biking excursion for you.
