P&O On Board With Macmillan.

We all hate the word cancer. I’m sure everyone reading this blog has heard about or knows someone who has suffered from this horrible destroying disease. I have been personally been affected of losing a very close friend who was only 32yrs old and unfortunately lost her battle 8yrs ago.  It is amazing news that P&O have got on board with Macmillan Cancer Support and has raised over £600,000 with big thanks to crew and customers, who has raised this generous fund.

P&O cruises have held a variety of fund raising events which included celebrity chef Eric Lanlard who led the head office bake off to support Macmillan’s biggest coffee morning and also included the Isle Of Wight challenge which is a walking festival around England’s Largest Island.

Crew members were involved in special events on board  a variety of P&O’s ships, they had fitness challenges and weekly coffee mornings that involved passengers.

Gerard Tempest, chief commercial officer at P&O Cruises, said: “Many of our colleagues who have taken on challenges for Macmillan have themselves been supported by the charity during a cancer experience, and it’s this personal understanding of the difference they can make that has driven us to such fundraising heights. “I’m also delighted to know that the money we’ve raised will contribute to services right here in our local community, which is a truly fantastic legacy for everyone involved in the partnership.”

This September will mark Macmillan’s 25th World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

We all need to help and raise money for this good cause, every penny helps.

Will you help to raise money for a good cause?
