2016 is going to be a very exciting year in the cruise industry with numerous of new ships being launched, so I thought it would be a good idea to give you a little insight of which new cruise ships that are coming our way.

I have listed just a couple of the ships to start with, but this is just the tip of the iceberg, so let’s have a look.

First to be launched is Holland America,  MS Koningsdam.

The "Stunning" Interior

MS Koningsdam will be Holland America’s first new ship in six years. She is going to be launched in Amsterdam, which will be in April this year. There is limited information about the ship at minute, Holland America have saved a lot of the details of the new ship for the launch.

MS Koningsdam will be  99,500 GT and carry 2,650 passengers, she will be featuring not only many of the signature amenities that Holland America guests love, but also several new concepts. These include new stateroom types, entertainment venues and specialty restaurants. World Stage, an extraordinary Theater at Sea, will feature LED screens two stories high and 250 feet long, giving guests a spectacular 270-degree view.

There’ll be live cookery demonstrations on-board where guests will also be able to purchase practical classes run by celebrity chefs and the ships own experts. There’ll also be kids cooking classes arranged through the kids clubs. As well as that the ship will come equipped with Holland Americas usual fitness centre, Tranquil Greenhouse Spa & Salon and a wide range of duty free shops.

The second ship to be launched is going to be Royal Caribbean, Ovation of the Seas.

Ovation of the Seas will be the third in Royal Caribbean’s new generation of smart ships and will launched on the 17th April 2016, from Southampton.

She will include everything you’d expect to find on a Quantum class ship, featuring ground breaking on-board activities including the Bionic Bartenders,  RipCord by iFLY, the first skydiving experience at sea and North Star (a capsule capable of taking guests 300ft above the ocean). Amazing entertainment such as dancing Roboscreens in the unique transformative venue Two70, and Sea-Plex, the largest indoor sports and entertainment complex at sea with dodgems, roller skating and so much more.

Plus Royal Caribbean’s largest and most advanced staterooms ever, including the industry’s first-ever Virtual Balcony staterooms, which offer expansive, real-time views of the ocean and exciting destinations for interior staterooms.

WOW, its looking like 2016 is going to be a very exciting year !
