My Well Deserved Holiday In Turkey.

Well I’ll soon be off on holiday, sunning it up in Icmeler In Turkey. I will be enjoying 5 beautiful days lounging in the sun. It’s been a while since I have taken a normal holiday as I normally always cruise. But as an experienced traveller I thought it would be a good idea to give you some tips when travelling to Turkey and to give you some ideas of the brilliant places you can experience and explore.

Icmeler is where I am staying, it has a beautiful beach and only 8 kilometres from the vibrant resort of Marmaris. Icmeler is known for its pine forested heaven which is infused with all the atmosphere of both the Mediterranean and the Aegean Seas and is truly picturesque against the backdrop of magnificent Taurus Mountains, here there is always plenty to do.

Top 4 things to do if you are a newbie to travelling:

  • Icmeler has a wide range of sporting and cultural activities and loads of different excursions that will suite everyone, there is always plenty to do. From Jet skiing, water skis, banana boat  to even hiring a fishing boat.
  • If that doesn’t suite you could even try the biggest water park in Europe- Adaland water park, and this is only if you’re feeling adventurous.
  • If you like get as pampered and need to relax how about a trip to a Turkish bath, this is all you need to recharge your batteries.
  • Take a walk into Marmaris, they offer a  wide range of traditional Turkish souvenirs, such as onyx vases, bowls and ashtrays, mosaic lanterns, Turkish clothes, metal wares, leather, carpets, shoes, bags and jewellery. Marmaris is the biggest public shopping centre and it is located by the centre square.

Top 4 things for the experienced traveller:

  • Take a scenic route on a jeep safari. Get driven through the wilderness and into the quiet, traditional villages. The safari also stops off at untouched bays for a few swimming breaks.
  • How about a boat trip out to Dalyan’s very famous mud bath. Dalyan’s hot springs and mud bath is very healthy for the patients having the diseases such as rheumatism, sciatica and calcinosis.
  • What about taking a trip to the fascinating ancient harbour city of Kaunos and the magnificent tombs are carved into the rock. The area is very huge with terrace Temple, seaport Agora, theatres, rock tombs and bath. The remnants are from the eras of the Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic, Roman and the Byzantium. The rock tombs really worth seeing.
  • Gulet cruising in Marmaris, you are able to find charter trips to Karacasögüt (Gulf of Gökova, Bodrum, Göcek and Finike. There are a lot of opportunities for different sailing routes. They can go along the long coastline and you can discover a surprise of  historic scenes and wonders of nature, isolated bays, wonderful beaches, and so much more.

I will speak to you all when I am back and all refreshed from my holiday.
