My Mediterranean Adventure

I have recently returned from a fantastic cruise on Celebrity Constellation sailing from Barcelona to Venice with my Husband  The itinerary was a lovely balance of busy long days when we visited Florence Pisa and Rome, to relaxing ones in Split and stunning port of Kotor in Montenegro.

We took in the ports of 

Toulon, 

Villefranche, 

la Spezia 

Civitavecchia, 

Naples 

We had one day at Sea  

Kotor in Montenegro 

Spilt  in Croatia 

Venice. 

I always knew this was going to be a busy cruise compared to the Eastern Mediterranean ones we have done previously. However by the time I got to my day at sea I was ready to hit the sunbed and relax with a cocktail by the pool. 

When you compare eastern and western Mediterranean the ports I found not as pretty, the further east we sailed the prettier things got. With one exception Villefranche I never imagined it to be so pretty we were tendered and the little town has an abundance of restaurants along the harbor front. We didn’t make it to the beach as we had a trip booked to Monaco and Monte Carlo however the sea was a stunning turquoise. This will definitely be a port I would like to go back to just to chill in the port. One of my lovely customers did recommend the beach to me saying it was her favorite I can certainly see why.

Father into my itinerary we visited the port of Kotor in Montenegro it is stunning you need to be up early to watch the sail in. It’s a tender port and we had a short tender as we were docked really close to the town. The pretty town has lots of little streets with shops,  restaurants, and bars. My husband had heard about the steps you can climb so we decided to do it. it’s only 1350 steps to the ruined fortress at the top, never did I imagine it would be so steep I made it with a few stops well maybe more than a few and the view was well worth it…
