Britannnia’s pre-bookable options

The launch of Britannia is getting ever closer (50 days from time of writing) and this week saw me getting an invite to one of the launch events happening in Southampton – I am lucky enough to be on board overnight on the 8th March and am very excited about going on board and seeing all this ship has to offer. This week also my mother book her cruise and she is on the maiden Norwegian Fjords cruise for 7 nights, although she has ben to all these ports she really wants to experience what the Britannia has to offer.

Helping her fill in her cruise personaliser yesterday I was surprised to see all the various options you can pre-book before you go, obviously you would expect to find excursions and spa packages etc, but now you can pre-book for afternoon tea, cookery school, limelight club, dining in the specialty restaurants – Sindhu and the Epicurean.

The cookery school on Britannia will be led by James Martin (although he will only be on board personally on selected sailings) and is in groups of 24, each class lasts about 2-2.5 hours and is suitable for all levels of cooking. On my mum’s sailing she can choose too learn to cook James Martin’s favourite desserts, Breadmaking made easy, from Scandinavia to the Baltic, Chocolate, Eric Lanlard’s pâtisserie, Fish and shellfish and finally Thai Street food. Each class is £45 per person.

The Limelight club can only be pre-booked 90 days in advance and is an adults only venue which will combine great food with dazzling entertainment, so you can expect a lively and enjoyable evening in the company of some great performers that you won’t see anywhere else on the ship.  The Limelight Club then turns into a late-night dancing venue, so you can enjoy a full evening’s dining and entertainment without having to move around the ship. What did surprise me is the dress code is smart casual even on a formal night. Once bookings are open you will be able to see which acts will be performing and choose your night.

Eric Lanlard’s Afternoon tea at the Epicurean can also be pre-booked and is £15 per person, it is only available on sea days so you will need to get in early if wanting to experience this. For dinner tat Sindhu and the Epicurean you can view sample menus and also make reservations but it doesn’t tell you which menu will on what day.

I can’t wait to go on board and sample Eric Lanlard’s cakes at the Market cafe in the Atrium, or to see what Limelight Club looks like as this is new to P&O

If you would like me to photograph anything in particular then let me know and I will try my best.
