Cruise.co’s latest fitness challenge

Regular readers of my blog will know that there are a few of us at Cruise.co.uk who like to keep fit and take on some crazy challenges. This started in 2012 when our friend and colleague Drew was suffering with a sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. Drew was brave enough to set up his own charity raising funds for Sarcoma UK and we signed up for the Birmingham Half Marathon. Drew unfortunately passed away the month before the marathon.

Last year we again trained for and participated in the half marathon and so this year we thought that we would try something different and we are entered for The Wolf Run.

The Wolf Run is described as a ‘hardcore’ 10K off road run featuring a series of man-made and natural obstacles located throughout the course. It is a run across natural terrain and uses nature’s obstacles including mud pits, hills and dense foliage, fallen trees and lake swims. They also throw in some man made obstacles of tyre pits and rope climbs. They claim that they test you mentally and physically across the challenging terrain.

The run takes place in just 19 days and as we do not take these things lightly we have been in training since the start of summer. Cruise.co.uk are a great employer and they have paid for a personal trainer to put us through bootcamp style training sessions each week.

We were also lucky enough to train with the 37 Signal Regiment, British Army Reserves last month who put us through a gruelling half hour personal training session.

The Wolf Run is on the 7th September at Welsh Road Farm, Warwickshire and spectators can come along and watch so if you are in the local area and fancy seeing your cruise consultants getting all sweaty and muddy, come along and support us.
