Cheers to a happy anniversary.

Princess Cruises are the latest cruise line to try their hand at brewing and are introducing their own craft beer on board the Regal Princess this autumn. They will feature an Indian Pale Ale (IPA) called The Seawitch West Coast IPA. Personally I thought this was a strange name until I realised that Princess’s logo of the lady with long flowing hair is actually called the seawitch.

The beer which  forms part of Princess’s 50th anniversary celebrations will retail at $6.25 and has been developed by the Strike Brewing Company. It is described as “the balanced aroma of lightly roasted malt and barley which is strongly accented by the crisp dry flavour of a unique hop blend.” It is expected to be on sale across the fleet by early 2015.

Princess Cruises will start celebrating their 50th anniversary with the naming ceremony of the Regal Princess in Fort Lauderdale on the 5th November. Her maiden voyage is a 3 night mini cruise from just £199pp cruise only, however Florida is a bit far to go to for 3 nights so she is offering 7 night Caribbean sailings from just £429pp cruise only or just over £1000 each with flights. Call me for details.
