I did it myself but never got an Ovation

You will all of seen by now Royal Caribbean’s Fantastic new Quantum class ship Ovation of the Seas which had her Maiden Voyage in April of this Year. I was lucky enough to be invited to spend a day and night On board on the 11th April 2016 before the Maiden Voyage to experience all she had to offer and so I could have first hand experience of sailing with Royal Caribbean. Having been on lot’s of other cruise line’s I was really looking forward to seeing the difference, With so many exciting features from the Wonderland Restaurant and the Bionic Bar to the Ripcord by I-fly and the Amazing North Star I could not wait.

Well I did wait and after getting to within a few days of departure I chased my documentation and link for my cruise personaliser only to find out due to an admin error that I and another 3 of my colleagues had not had the link to register so our places had been passed onto other agents. I was really disappointed as I had booked all my travel arrangements and time out of the office.

It was great to see that the other staff that we did have On board really had a good time and feed back everything that was on offer on the same day so everyone could see. It looked amazing and they seemed get around and sample everything.

So what did I do? Well I explained to my wife that the trip was cancelled for me and that I would not have to spend 2 days and nights away from her and my 3 kids. Now that went down really well and when I finished in my office at 10 pm I was given the news that I was now decorating. Now I have to admit as this was not planned I was not jumping for joy at the thought of this.

I have never hung wallpaper in my life so was pleased to enlist the help of Judith my Mother-in-law. My wife was at work so while I went and did the Nursery and School run the walls had been prepped in white paint ready for the paper and I just had to finish painting all the other walls and Judith did the rest. So by the time my wife returned from Work we had finished and I had double brownie points and almost had an Ovation from her for the way the room looked.

The Finished Article, Worth and Ovation?

I have to admit I was pleased with the results and was even more pleased to hear that due to missing out on the Ovation of the Seas I am now lucky enough to be looking forward to sampling 2 Nights on the world’s biggest cruise ship Harmony of the Seas. I will be On board for 2 Nights on the 20th May 2016.

Harmony looks to be amazing and I have to admit I am a little intimidated on sailing on a ship of her sheer size. ( Anyway I think that is for another update very soon )

So to sum up I never got an Ovation, I got to decorate but in a few weeks I do get a no so little Harmony.
