NCL Epic – non-existent bathrooms in very small balcony cabins….

Well this was a first for me. Have you ever been on a cruise ship that doesn’t have bathrooms in the cabin? No, nor me, until I went on the NCL Epic last week!
The sink was in the main body of the cabin, and it was tiny, hardly room to rinse out your smalls, let alone do anything else in!
The shower cubicle and toilet were in very small cubicles either side of the main entrance to the cabin with very thin perspex sliding doors that left nothing to the imagination. In between them was wooden flooring – not very practical at all. I wonder how long it will be until they have to replace those.
There is a curtain that you can pull across to preserve your modesty but the whole set up is unsatisfactory. When my colleague needed the loo I had to go and stand on the balcony and sing the National Anthem at the top of my voice. Of course, all this has come about because the cabins are actually too small to house a proper bathroom.
And the worst thing of all……… these are to be sold as quad cabins! NCL, are you being serious? Two of struggled in this cabin, I don’t know how you expect to get four people in. One thing is for sure, I will be strongly recommending that people don’t book these as quad cabins because I know it will come back to bite me on the bum! Oh, and the light switches and sockets – good luck! I hope you enjoy a challenge!
