With the launch of the 2011 edition due on the 4th October, certain figures in the cruise industry are suggesting that the Guide favours certain types of ships. Douglas Ward who has produced what is known as the ‘cruise bible’ for many years and it is always in demand – our clients are always keen to get their hands on a copy that’s for sure.
It is being suggested that Ward favours the smaller luxury cruise ships or boutique ships as they are known. They are always in his top 10.
He doesn’t seem to be impressed with the larger more family orientated ships, and he has certainly been harsh with the likes of Royal Caribbean – see my ealier post – for ‘ripping people off’ on board. Maybe he is too old to give an unbiased opinion on the larger, more modern ships? Are people better informed if they read the likes of the ‘Reviews’ on our company website, getting the opinions of many people?
I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has an opinion on this.
