Ancient History….. River Nile beats all

As promised some time ago, I will do a series of river cruises. One of the most popular river cruises at the moment is a cruise on the River Nile, in Egypt. I receive many emails from customers asking about details of these cruises. Have a look first at the information that I gathered for you.

Few countries can offer such historical riches as Egypt. Add to this the clear blue skies, the serenity of a Luxury Nile Cruise and a smiling welcome from a hospitable people and you have one of the world’s great tourist destinations.

Some of the wonderful places for you to discover are the medieval street bazaars and exquisite mosques of Cairo, and during a Nile Cruise the imposing temples of Karnak and Luxor and the unique Valley of the Kings where the treasures of the boy-king Tutankhamun were discovered, and the magnificent Temple of Abu Simbel. You can visit the ancient sites of Alexandria and the remote Western Desert with Siwa and Bahariya Oasis, the Valley of the Mummies.

A Nile Cruise is a truly unique holiday experience. Great monuments and ancient cities line the banks of the Nile, a cruise on the calm waters gives the traveler the advantage of insight into not only ancient times but also the modern. Day to day life flourishes, with farmers tending their crops, irrigating their fields in the traditional ways of their ancestors.

A Nile cruise gives visitor’s a unique opportunity to view rural life in the Nile Valley. For over five thousand years the Nile has been the lifeblood of Egypt and there’s simply no better way to experience the wealth of Egyptian history, culture and architecture than on a Nile River cruise.

Most Nile River cruises visit Luxor on the site of ancient Thebes, where you’ll see the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, ancient Egypt’s longest ruling female pharaoh, and the Temple of Karnak, the largest temple complex built by man. On your Nile River cruise, you may also visit the 2,000-year-old, beautifully preserved Temple of Horus, the falcon god, or hop aboard a felucca, a traditional Egyptian sailing vessel. Many Nile River cruises also visit the High Dam at Aswan, one of Egypt’s modern marvels.
