A singles cruise, is that any good?
I have many customers that are single. This is most of the time a barrier to go on vacation. The cruise industry is now moving more and more in the direction of providing cruises for single (or solo) travelers.
When you book, you must be aware of a few things.
In the industry, there are 2 kind of single travelers: First of all people who are single and like to have a nice vacation and on the other hand people who are single and are “fishing” in the pond of other singles. For the last group, many companies organise cruises now.
Look how other companies like this sell these single cruises. Is this what you like?
They provide private singles activities and events hosted by professional group cruise directors on the worlds leading cruise lines and cruise ships. By booking with them you’ll receive all the standard amenities’ available on board the ship, PLUS entrance to all their “exclusive singles events”. Their guests are offered private meet and greet singles events, cocktail mixers, lectures, theme and costume parties, a separate dining area for our group and ongoing activities organised by their dedicated cruise directors. They also feature pre-cruise activities like a private message board and invite their single guests to an optional pre-cruise dinner party.
The entire ship is not single and only members of the group who have booked directly through the agency will be invited to the all the special singles activities. They provide you with a detailed program of activities customized for the entire trip. They encourage you to participate in all the fun and games as this is the best way to fully experience what singles cruising is all about.
So, if you are a solo traveler and want to relax and have a quiet cruise vacation, make sure you do not book with one of the “fun” companies. Check with me first what is best for you.
