A Right Royal Outing………………..

Over the years at Cruise.co.uk I have seen many different ships belonging to many different cruise lines, either sailing on them, attending launch parties, or just a day visit. All of these ships, whether large or small, old or new, are unique in their own special way and I have yet to board a ship that I didn’t like, although those of you who know me well will know that I am a huge fan of the smaller ships.
At the beginning of March I will be doing my first ship visit of 2013, and I can honestly say that I am already looking forward to it more than any other ship visit I have done.

I feel priviliged to be having the opportunity to visit the Hebridean Princess, the little ship which sails around the Northern Isles, and which was chartered by her Majesty the Queen, no less, to celebrate her 80th birthday. Well if it’s good enough for Royalty…………….!
I will fly up to Glasgow and then get a taxi to the port of Greenock, only about 26 miles, where I shall board my little vessel – only about 2,000 tonnes, then I will have a tour of the ship and a lovely lunch – locally sourced game and fish always features on the menu so this will be a real treat I’m sure!
The Hebridean Princess comes from humble beginnings, she was formerly a car and mail ferry but this intra-island workhorse has been transformed into a gorgeous mini country house at sea one that is quite literally ‘fit for a Queen’! She boasts an elegant restaurant, a lounge complete with inglenook fireplace, a library and a conservatory, or look-out lounge along with beautifully appointed cabins, all with their own individual theme and decor.
Hebridean Princess, in a nutshell, offers it’s passengers – “……….that rarest of commodities: one which features a sense of exclusivity and solid, luxurious comfort without pretentiousness, and if you want to see Bonnie Scotland in unforgettable style, this is the way to do it”.
I am thoroughly looking forward to my visit and of course I will be taking my camera so that I can take lots of photos to share with you on my return. What this space!
