I’m going to be at the launch of the new Queen Elizabeth…………………….

The launch of a new ship is always an exciting time for us agents as we get to sample the goods ahead of all our passengers, but the launch of the new Queen Elizabeth is really exciting for me, and one that I am looking forward to more than any other I’ve done.

Firstly, this will be the first time that I’ve been on a Cunard ship, and secondly because I’ve experienced the build up from the beginning. I can remember the run up to her going on sale at 1pm on the 1st April last year, and then the actual day – the buzz in the office was tremendous. Twenty nine minutes later the Maiden Voyage was sold out, with the other five voyages selling fast. They all seemed so far away!

And here we are now with just over a month to go. I just can’t wait to see her, inside and out. We are told that Cunard are going back to core values and the ‘Golden Age of Cruising’ with afternoon tea dances and  traditional deck sports. I quite fancy having a go at the Jitterbug! Decor is said to be traditional too. I’ve got a funny feeling I’m expecting something along the lines of Titanic. Oooo, maybe I’ll bump into Leo De Caprio!
I so hope I’m not going to be disappointed. I usually go to these launches with an open mind but I really am expecting something above and beyond this time.

Rest Assured I will give you my honest opinion when I get back – oh, and of course photos of the carpets! Please let them be tasteful on Cunard!
