Celebrity Wine Cruise – is the wine the real attraction?

Celebrity released these ‘Wine Cruises’ some long while ago and to be honest they didn’t really seem to register on anyones Richter scale, barely a pulse could be felt. Yet all of a sudden they are flying out the door because Celebrity have absolutely slashed the prices and thrown in some almighty upgrades.
Lets face it – the itineraries are as dull as dishwater, the time of year is not not brilliant for such an itinerary either, there is no actual wine thrown in, just talks and excursions to wine producing regions, and the transfer times on the excursions are going to be lengthy.

So, you may ask, why are people booking in their drives all of a sudden. The answer is quite simple – Celebrity is a fantastic product, Constellation is a wonderful ship, the food is probably the best you will eat at sea unless you pay for a 6* cruise line, you will get a balcony for the price of an inside. In short, you can enjoy the whole Celebrity experience for 12 blissful days for £58 per person per night. Daylight robbery!
Take a look around the ship –

Who cares where the ship is going or what the theme is, that is irrelevant. Just enjoy the ship and all she has to offer. At this price you would have to be mad not to. I ask you, what else are you likely to be doing in November? Just incase you are interested, here are the ports of call –
Southampton, Le Havre, Le Verdon, Bilbao, Vigo, Porto, Southampton.
There are various dates available through the autumn, but I have found the best prices are on 6th and 18th November sailing out of Southampton.

  1. We may not even bother do do the trips, being conversant with all the wine growing areas and ports within the itinerary, however there is no way I’m prepared to miss out on on a deal as good as this at sea. As you imply Hannah – can one afford to sit at home, in November, at £58 pppn within deluxe balcony accomodation on Deck 6 of MV Constellation?

  2. Yes, I am holding off booking the same itinerary on the Infinity out of Harwich next year in the hope they offer a similar deal. Its worth it just for the dining on the ship and without having to fly too!
