Sailing Out of My Comfort Zone

Now the Christmas period is over and I have well and truly fattened myself up its time to start thinking about my 2017 holiday.  I think I am the same as most people, in that as much as I love my job and what I do, after that Christmas break I need something to look forward to, and some motivation to shed that Christmas pudding that is growing around my waist.

So, me and my partner over the last couple of weeks have been looking at some cruise options for 2017.  Now as I obviously work in travel and live and breathe it every day, when it comes to sorting out my own holiday, I can become quite lazy and I usually get my husband to decide where we are going and do all the hard work for us.  I have always done this, I guess it is down to the fact, that I like a lot of other people, want someone else to sell and tell me about the holiday; rather than it being me selling it to myself.  If I sold my holidays to myself, I think I would be travelling all over the world with every customer I book.

Anyway, last night I stepped out of my comfort zone when I saw an MSC deal come through on the system.  It was on the MSC Preziosa sailing in September from Southampton from £428pp.  Now for me this is stepping out my zone, as A; I don’t usually sail from Southampton, as I prefer to fly out to the warmer climate and have longer in the sun, and B; although I deal with MSC all the time I have never sailed with them before and they haven’t been someone that we have ever considered for our own holiday.

Now seeing this deal, as we have a tight budget for 2017 due to what seems like all my friends and family deciding they want to get married this year, I proposed this to the other half as a nice break away for 7 nights at a BARGAIN price.  And I was surprised when he agreed and said it looked brilliant.  So hes off to work today to put in the holidays and it looks like I am going to have my first taster on MSC Cruises and I am really looking forward to it.
