It’s That Time Of Year Again

Its that time of year again…..  Can you guess what?

Summer?
Holiday Time?
Game of Thrones (Technically yes)

Nope, it is the time of the year where people are starting to look for a last minute bargain on their summer cruise.  Well for those of you out their looking, I have some good news and some bad news.

Let’s start with the good news.  Brexit (that word again) has actually had a good influence for once.  It appears that a lot of people have been put of booking anything until they know what is happening with the debacle that is the B word.  This has meant that a lot of the cruise lines now have a lot of cabins that they still need to sell.  When this happens you normally see an influx of some crazy deals coming out which is always good news.  Up until now the cruise lines have been trying to hold their prices, but the deals are slowly starting to trickle through.  Just this morning I have seen a 7 night cruise on P&O Ventura sailing 30th August from Southampton starting at just £499pp.  So this could be a good summer for cruisers.

And the bad news.  Although their is a lot of availability floating around (you see what i did there, floating), me and a few of my colleagues have commented about the lack of availability for cabins for families of 3 and 4 people in one cabin.  I am struggling to explain this, because from my earlier comment above, with lots of cabins to sell you would think that there would be a lot of family cabins left within that, but strangely not.  I was searching for a four berth cabin for a family wanting to sail from Southampton with Royal Caribbean over the summer and the availability was bleak.  It appears that families, who a lot of the time don’t have the flexibility of time and destinations that couples due, due to school holidays etc, have still been booking strong during the B word process.

So if you are looking for that family cabin for this summer, my advise is to get in touch now and don’t leave it until its too late, or you may not be sailing this summer.
