So as they say, bigger is better right?
Come on, get your mind out the gutter haha! I’m talking cruise ships!
MSC have announced that MSC Magnifica is coming back to Southampton for 2021, but shes going in for some surgery with ‘Dr Zizmore’. It has been confirmed that when she does come in, she will be sporting an additional 215 cabins on board with an extra 7000 square metres of space.
How are they going to do this you ask? Well the lovely cruise ship doctors in the shipyards are going to perform some surgery on her and slice her down the middle (OUCH), she will be separated into two parts and a new middle section will added creating the new extra space for the cabins and public areas.
In addition to the announcement extra space on board, MSC have announced 24 itineraries from Southampton for 2021 which is their biggest ever season sailing out of the UK. 18 out of the 24 cruises will be new itineraries for MSC out of Southampton, with a range of ports including The Baltic’s, The Mediterranean and The Canary Islands all featuring in the season.
What is even better news is as well, there will be no inter porting on these itineraries. MSC traditionally operate their cruises where by people start and end their cruise in different ports on the itinerary along the way, bringing fresh faces on board each day. Well with the sailings on Magnifica Southampton will be the only port guests can start and end their journey, which gives you more chance to get to know everyone on board.
The sailings on Magnifica for 2021 launched yesterday (12th September) and their are some fantastic prices, Check them out on our website and remember you can secure yours with a £1pp deposit (terms and conditions apply). For a full in depth review on Magnifica, check out my blog from when I sailed on her last year.
