The Cruise Lines Have Missed Out On This Opportunity

We all know that airlines, tour operators, cruise lines etc increase their prices during peak times, but I have just read about the astronomical amounts  hotels are charging in Lisbon for the night of the Champions League final this year.

The average cost of a room in Lisbon is normally  £90 per night for May, however, people are reporting prices of £3669 for a 2 star Hotel and £6498 for a 4 star.

As cruise ships regularly dock into Lisbon, perhaps some thought should have been given to the timings this year and an overnight stay in Lisbon arranged.

So much for it being the peoples game! What does this do for the reputation for the city of Lisbon? I dread to think of the costs of rooms in Rio for the World Cup Final – I am frightened to look.
