Is it Thomson Or Tui?

Is it Thomson or TUI? – Does It Matter?

One of the leading brand names in travel will begin to disappear over the next 18 months, the Thomson name will become TUI. Does it really matter I wonder? We used to have the JMC brand but that became Thomas Cook, so over the years we have been used to many different names, but what really matters? Is it the name or what they offer?

Thomson Cruises have told us of their plans for 2017 – they have their new ship, Discovery. It sounds as though they are definitely trying to bring  this product up to date – order a drink by push button on the new adults only area, The Veranda, use the self service kiosk to make your spa appointment, drop into the hi tech excursion shop and see what they have on offer.

At long last they are returning to the UK – Thomson Celebration will split her time between Malaga and Newcastle in Summer 2017, Thomson Dream will be based in Corfu, Discovery and Majesty will be in Palma and Thomson Spirit will offer adult only cruises from Dubrovnik – so plenty of choice on offer, I am sure you agree.

New for summer 2017 are the ports of Taranto, Italy; Ciutadella, Menorca; and Zakynthos Town, Zakynthos.

There will be itineraries to the Norwegian Fjords, Scandinavia and the Baltics.

One of the very best things about Thomson cruises though is their regional flying programme – Bournemouth, Newcastle, Cardiff – 22 regional airports.

Many customers are put off if they can’t get a direct flight, hanging around airports isn’t much fun, so I am sure that the choice on offer from Thomson Cruises will mean that most can get to where they want, when they want and from where they want!
