I have worked in the travel industry for a number of years, advising on a whole range of holidays and travel. One area that I have never been asked much about, is river cruising. To be honest, until I came to work for cruise.co.uk, I didnt know that much about them myself. Well that has certainly changed in the past few months.
How do you start to plan your river cruise? Which river do I want to cruise? What do I want to see? What type of cabin do I want? What do I want to include in my cruise? These are just a few questions to think about.
I have had some fantastic conversations with river cruise passengers about their experiences. What is obvious from our discussions is that river cruising offers customers the chance to not just visit a destination but to experience it.
When in port, there are sightseeing excursions included at all stops, which range from large cities like Amsterdam to delightful, small towns and villages like Austria’s Durnstein . You can also add on a pre or post cruise stay to enhance your experience.
Don’t expect to see ” West End style” shows, Ultra Modern Spas or rock climbing walls, but do expect to experience superior professional service, unique history and culture and spectacular scenery.
So if you are bored with the same itineraries, don’t want to try and eat at the same time as another 3500 other passengers – try a River Cruise and experience something different
