What is one of the most enjoyable things on a cruise? What causes numerous moans and groans?
Is it the entertainment?
Itinerary?
Ships Crew?
Well, we may praise or criticize any or all of these, but the dining experiences offered by the cruise lines help to make or break an enjoyable cruise.
It has been rumoured this week that, Royal Caribbean are to introduce ” Dynamic Dining ” to Oasis Of The Seas and then a possible fleetwide rollout.
This dining concept really divides opinions. It is obvious that they are spending significant amounts of money installing a new onboard dining reservation system – but is it money well spent?
We all have our preferences – personally, I love traditional dining, I like to sit at a large table and during the cruise get to know my fellow diners, yes sure, sometimes you can get the oddball! but all the more fun. I like to get to know my waiter – I love the great service they give, becoming aware of your likes and dislikes.
I know that many think it is only the older generation that like the traditional dining option, but I disagree. One Lady I was chatting this over subject over with last week said that she enjoyed that the children could go into their club and she and her Husband could enjoy a meal with fellow passengers at a fixed time, knowing that they didnt have to queue for a table, enjoy a show if they wanted and then collect the children.
I am sure that others reading this have the opposite opinion – but it is all about choice. So please, keep the traditional as it is as the saying goes -” If it ain’t broke, it doesn’t need fixing “
