Oceana Fails Inspection

Not the best news for P&O Oceania today as she has failed a US health inspection, official that boarded her found food stored in hazardous conditions and sick kitchen staff working with food!  This is really disappointing to hear from P&O and things like this should not be happening do they not realise this is how norovirus spreads!

Inspectors boarded Ocean on the 01 March and found 48 violations, these violations included unwashed dishes and cooking utensils, inadequately refrigerated sandwiches and cheeses, insects found in food preparation areas, and a member of kitchen staff who worked while suffering from acute gastroenteritis.

The swimming pool and whirlpool spa had to be shut down after it was found they had not been properly disinfected, with both found to contain insufficient levels of bromine and chlorine.

This is not a standard you would expect from a 4 star Cruise line and quite sad to hear they should know better,

She has still been allowed to sail despite the failings and will receive another check in the next 2 months; we shall wait and see the outcome,
