Greenwich Cruise Terminal

Great news for London as the go ahead has been given for the first ever Cruise terminal which will be located in Greenwich in 2017,

Major Boris Johnson has approved plans for the terminal at Greenwich, I am surprised already that there isn’t one already in place in the capital as such a major tourist point for travellers.

The opening of the new Terminal will allow medium sixed ships to dock, Located along the Thames at Greenwich, in SE10, the terminal will soon be able to accommodate any boat that measures up to 230m (750ft) in length, with a maximum passenger capacity of 1,600.

Ships of this size include some Thomson Cruises and Holland America Line boats, such as Ryndam and Veendam, but the terminal would not be able to fit a mega-ship, such as Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas, for example.

I think is the great news for tourism in the UK and what an amazing site to sail up the Thames with all the famous landmarks around, also it is good for creating jobs in the area, and can’t wait to see the terminal finished and up and running,
