My Experience onboard the Independence Of The Seas…

I get asked quite a lot by customers, what do I think of the Royal Caribbean Independence Of  The Seas. So I thought what better way than to share my experience with you and what I enjoyed the most whilst onboard.

Independence of the seas was actually the first Royal Caribbean ship I traveled on, setting sail from Southampton, traveling around, Spain & the Canaries I honestly could not wait. I was traveling with my husband, Brother & Sis-in-law. I must say leaving from Southampton was brilliant as I only lived a couple of hours away and this meant no luggage restrictions for how much I could bring onboard Great news! Makeup, Shoes & Bags at the ready, royal Caribbean… Here I come 🙂

When we parked up, I honestly could not believe the size of the ship. I had traveled on many ships previously but nothing as large as this.

When we walked onboard, I was absolutely in shock at how the ship looked. I had been told by many people before that the Independence of the seas, was such a beautiful ship, and to be prepared as I would be wowed., however, nothing quite prepared me for what I would actually see whilst onboard.

As soon as we checked in, we headed straight to the Royal Promenade level, deck 5 . On this level you had the Campaign bar, Cupcake Cupboard, Sorrento’s the list goes on. I must say this was my favorite deck as we always seem to be on this deck at most times of the day, whether this be for a cup of tea & a cake, having a little tipple in the Pub, listening to the band play, shopping for a new handbag or two or even a glass of champagne before our evening meal, you name it they had it all here on this level.

I loved the Casino Royale on Deck 4 too. I  am not really a Gambler back at home, but when cruising, I do love a little flutter! To make my trip even better, on my first day at sea, I even won 200 USD using my lucky number 7.  What better way to start my holiday!

As I was onboard for 13 Nights, I always like to watch as many shows as possible, so each evening before our meal we would head to the Alhambra Theatre to watch a show or entertainment. I think Royal Caribbean are fantastic for their shows. Two of the evenings we even went to watch an Ice Show, on Deck Three in Studio B. If you are traveling on this ship it is an absolute MUST SEE, as it was spectacular!

Although the main dining restaurant had amazing food, I always like to try a specialty restaurant or two as well. I love trying different cuisines and experiencing the different atmospheres onboard.  We booked Giovanni’s Table & Chops Grille on Deck 11 (Booking is recommended) as well as during the daytime at Johnny Rockets Deck 12 (Which you do not really need to pre-book).

If I am honest, my list could go on endlessly about the different activities I could do & see. These are just a few of the countless things I did whilst onboard.

Overall, my experience onboard The Independence Of  The Seas Royal Caribbean was just AMAZING!
