I must say RCI certainly named this ship right. According to The Oxford Dictionary, the word “Allure” means “the quality of being powerfully and mysteriously attractive or fascinating”.
Allure of the seas you have certainly had this effect on me and here’s why…
Not only is she the largest cruise ship in the world she has so many firsts at seas and there is always something to do no matter how old you are and what you like to do on a cruise ship.
I can’t speak for everyone so if it’s ok with you I’ll share with you, my experience on The Allure and what impression this impressive vessel has left on me.
We boarded in a sun-drenched Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale overlooking millionaire’s mansions and private yachts at 17:00pm local time having spent an exquisite evening at a 5 star Golf & Spa hotel in Miami. We embarked for plenty of lazy sea days. We choose the repositioning transatlantic cruise option because we are seasoned cruisers and we knew that having lots of seas days would give us the ideal opportunity to see more of the ship. After all, if you want to get the best value for money and have everything open for more of your voyage then a transatlantic cruise is a great option.
Here are a few of my highlights
The only Park at Sea Central park located on deck six is the 2nd hub of this ship a spectacular classy deck with real life plants and trees surrounded by specialty restaurants and wine bars. What I loved most about this deck is it’s a suntrap a nice spot to sit and have a coffee but as a live acoustic music lover the sound from the musicians on this deck I thought was the best music had sounded anywhere on the ship. It’s all about the acoustics of Central park.
Floating Martini bar: This bar is incredible every 15 minutes it picks you up on the Royal Promenade and takes you up leisurely to Central Park it’s a gorgeous spot to enjoy a glass of Prosecco before dinner.
The Boardwalk If you’re blessed with the weather this is one of the finest parts of the ship at the Aft there is an aqua auditorium where they have life events, as well as plenty of family-friendly informal dining options like Johnny Rockets and Rita’s Cantina as well as the finest hot dog stand in the world surely.
It does say a lot about me that my highlights were related to food, drink, and music, however, there were so many amazing things to do on-board this incredible ship.
The Theatrical shows were masterful including an unbelievable version of Broadway’s Chicago, and a rainbow of colour in the Ice skating board game show.
Dream-works Madagascar show was a huge highlight hosted by the cruise director on the Aqua Theatre. I especially liked the 70’s disco on The Royal Promenade which has become a bit of a Royal treat as we saw it on The Independence of The Seas a year prior.
Overall I can honestly say, that this has been my favorite ship so far with so many special moments and memories created. I am so excited about travelling on many more of the finest ships and I will keep you posted as and when I do.
