Sun, sea and sunburn for me

This week I am away from the office on holiday. Well I say holiday, I am not going away but have friends staying with me.

Living in the Spanish sunshine is a great draw for friends wanting to come and stay. So Monday saw the arrival of my best friend Claire, a week of quality BFF time before the arrival of her youngest daughter Amber, who arrive this coming Monday. As Claire is a school teacher, she has the time to come for longer than the standard 2 weeks, so she will be here for 3 and half weeks.

At the end of the month I will be taking another week off as my other good friend arrives with his 2 boys, so a full house in Spain with me. Claire leaves a few days after he arrives and 10 days later Amber and the boys all return home and the house will be empty again.

This also coincides with my dad’s 70th birthday celebrations, so a  busy month with the Gardener’s.

Even though I live in Spain, I am not a sun worshiper, I get bored and irritated lying around doing nothing. But Claire is a beach bum, so its off to the beach we have and will go… I shall tolerate my hatred of sand, patchy sunburn (even after factor 30 has been endlessly applied) and laying about doing nothing. Because this is what you do for the ones you love…

Plans for the rest of the month, will be to visit Gibraltar, Malaga, the El Chorro lakes and spend quality time with some of my most special friends and family.

So from a very pink me, if your not yet away on holiday, enjoy the sunshine that you too are also having too.
