I have just returned from a fantastic weeks cruise on the MSC Musica sailing around the UAE and Oman.
From arrival at Heathrow airport where we was greeted by an MSC representative to make sure we checked in at the right desk and through to the time we left, everything was great…
Except, only I can go to one of the most driest regions of the world and get caught in a rain storm.
Over the coming weeks, I will go through more on not only MSC but also the ports that we docked at during our cruise.
But I have to say I didn’t expect a full gale storm and torrential rain, especially when we was expecting a week of fully uninterrupted sunshine in the lands of the deserts with temperatures of at least 25 degrees (as per Siri, the iPhone liar).
The day started off beautifully as we docked in to Khor al Fakkan, we even decided to have a lazy morning around the pool to start with and then have a mooch around on shore after lunch.
Then a few clouds started to appear and our skin was getting a bit cold..
and the sky started to get a bit darker
Then as we thought ‘oh it’ll be alright’ and we was just about to get off the ship, this happened…
We was informed it was the first time it had rained in months and months in the Emirates and expats based in these area thought it was great to get a bit of light relief from the searing heat… mmm not quite sure me and 3000 other guests escaping the European winter would agree!
Anyway, look out for the next blog where I will stop moaning about a ‘little bit of rain’ and give you more info on the ship and ports.
