Months ago, I wrote a blog on the trail that took place on the P&O Azura to see if a drinks package would suit P&O and their many returning guests.
P&O Experiment with All Inclusive Drink Package
Finally, after months of speculation, they have finally released a press statement to confirm that they will be introducing a new drinks package.
So for all those interested here are the facts you need to know:
There will now be FOUR drinks package options
The ultimate drinks package £39.95pp per day – Beers, spirits, cocktails, and wines up to £6.95. Teas, Coffees and hot chocolates. Soft drinks, mocktails and water.
The Non-alcoholic drinks package £19.95pp per day – Unlimited soft drinks, mocktails, juices, water, teas, coffees and hot chocolates.
The Hot drinks package £10.95pp per day – With a choice of unlimited primo Costa coffees, teapigs™ teas and hot chocolates.
The Children’s drinks package £7.95pp per day – Unlimited soft drinks, juices and hot chocolates.
Launch dates for each ship
Azura – 26th March 2019
Britannia – 07th April 2019
Aurora – 08th April 2019
Oceana – 18th April 2019
Ventura – 23rd April 2019
Arcadia – 05th May 2019
The only thing we haven’t been told yet is how you can book these packages. From the trail, they did before it was added on the ship within the first 24 hours on board. The rumour is that it will be available via the cruise personaliser or once on board.
Having cruised with P&O a few times, I know that the drinks onboard are on par with standard UK pub prices, so for me as a relatively non-drinker, a glass of wine a night type of girl, I don’t think it would be an option I would take up.
For some though this is a reasonable price to add. I am not sure yet how it will work re different guests per cabin. Princess, for example, will allow the different guests in each cabin to have different packages, MSC will not, they make you have all the same package.
I am sure as the coming weeks come there will be more information, so watch this space
