Well my work/pleasure week in Spain went too quickly, back to reality now.
Still I managed to thaw myself out with a few really good days in the sun. The weather to start was like this:
Thankfully we only had 2 days like above and that was intermittent, I was working too so wasn’t too worried, then the sun shone with temperatures at around 28 degrees, especially up in the mountains where I have my house. It was a couple of degrees cooler on the coast but I could not complain as I spent my Saturday evening catching up with friends at a beautiful spot in Estepona overlooking the bay and watching the sun go down with a rather large G&T… the Spanish certainly know how to pour a drink!
Sunday morning was catching up again with more friends and their children in Fuengirola, before having a very nice lunch with my parents in La Cala. A beautiful day with lots of laughs and large quantities of wine as you can see.
On Monday after a few hours of working in the morning, my mum and I decided to have a little trek in the mountains of our village and see if the natural pools was filled from the mountain springs.. Not quite full yet as there hasn’t been that much rain in the winter months, but the natural spring pools in the summer are deep enough to have a quick dip and cool down from the soaring heat of the Spanish sun
Unfortunately, my trip went too quickly and apart from the airport I didn’t manage to get to Malaga city this time, but I am planning another trip in a couple of months time for longer than a week and will make the time to visit Malaga and as a cruise geek time it when there are plenty of ships in port!!
If ever you are planning a trip to southern Spain be it on a cruise for a day or with a few days pre or post stay or a beach holiday, please remember to ask me about good spots to go to make the most of your holiday in the beautiful region of Andalucia.
