With the success of Strictly Come Dancing on BBC 1 dominating our Saturday nights over the past 10 years, P&O Cruises have captured this dance phenomenon and for a few years now, have offered the Strictly Come Dancing themed cruises.
These sailings are so very popular because it gives the British public the chance to spend 2 weeks on board cutting a rug in their high heels and sequined shirts (and that’s just the men!).
From novices to to major competitors, all are welcome and my friends sister is seriously considering booking one of these cruises for a special wedding anniversary to fulfill her fantasy and a chance to dance with one of the gorgeous men from Strictly. This themed cruise offers dance tuition’s, a chance to watch the professionals and also mini competitions.
Currently, P&O have 4 sailings for 2015 and they are selling quickly too, with judges on board, celebrity guests and some of the popular dancers to perform and teach, it will be a holiday to make memories for a lifetime. All on 14 night cruises between April to July and on family friendly ships giving the opportunity for the whole family to enjoy:
23.04.2015 P&O Aurora 14 nights Iberian Cruise
28.05.2015 P&O Ventura 14 nights Mediterranean Cruise
20.06.2015 P&O Azura 14 nights Baltic Cruise
25.07.2015 P&O Britannia 14 nights Spain & Portugal Cruise
Holland and America Cruise Line have also jumped on this bandwagon and also offer cruises from the US version ‘Dancing with the Stars’ again with judges from the show, guest celebrities and professional dancers, with itineraries for 7 nights around the Caribbean and North America/Canada.
As an American company, they love to take it one step further encouraging proper dance competitions and offering the winners with the highest score from each of Holland America Line’s ships to win a free oceanview stateroom to compete for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy and title of Dancing with the Stars: At Sea Champion, aboard the ms Nieuw Amsterdam on a January 10, 2016.
Got to love the yanks and their enthusiasm for a reality competition…
So if you fancy donning your sequins and heels and want to be ridiculed by Craig Revel-Horwood for your bad posture and terrible tango, give me a call now and book.
Or have you participated in one of these cruises in the past? Let me know what your experience was like…
And remember “keep dancing”..
