This week in the cruise industry news, there have been many articles about the Chinese market and the business of Cruise.
This is great news for those wanting to travel and see more of China as it will give more choice to ship, size and itineraries. China along with other Asian regions are still very popular and give more cruise clients the opportunity to visit some of these beautiful places that are sometimes best by cruise.
Here at cruise.dot we are always offering fantastic cruise holidays offers to China and the Far East be it on a large ocean liner or one of the beautiful river ships. There really are some great offers and options available The Great Wonders of China & Japan or Yangtze River Cruises these are just a couple of the many offers we have. We can tailor make the itinerary to suit your needs and make sure you get the very best out of your itinerary.
Royal Caribbean will have 4 of their ships in different locations around China next year, Royal Caribbean International will sail the Mariner of the seas from Tianjin in 2015, the brand new Quantum of the Seas from Shanghai, the Legend of the seas from Xiamen and the Voyager of the seas from Hong Kong.
Carnival Group homeports Costa ships in China, offering what it describes as Italy at Sea and Princess vessels, with a premium up-market experience. Carnival Group say they feel there is a huge gap for a mass market product and have released a statement that they have agreed to help build China’s first cruise ships as travel demand increases, placing the nation on course to become the second-biggest cruise market.
Not only that, but in the news this week also it was reported that by 2020, if estimates are correct, China’s cruise market will make up 4.5 million passengers and $8 billion in local economic impact.. WOW… With that potential growth, government-backed ports are working hard to upgrade their infrastructure in time for new tonnage and more ships. So watch this space….
Now like most people, I love Chinese food (our typical version of noodles, spring rolls, beef in black bean sauce and chow mein that is)… I just hope the cruise liners stick to the food us Westerners are used to on ships in China and don’t try to appease the Chinese with more traditional local street food favourites.. it doesn’t bear thinking of..
