Help…. I’ve locked myself out on the balcony!!!

Unbelievably this was a call made by a panicked cruise passenger to the Solent Coastguard late last night!!

The unnamed woman passenger was on board one of Fred Olsen’s ships, Braemar, when she popped out on to her balcony for some fresh air around 9pm last night.

Luckily she had her mobile phone with her and unable to attract any crew members she phoned the Coastguard who in turn called the ship and a crew member was dispatched to assist.

Solent Coastguard when asked if the situation had arisen before described it as “unique”.

Upon further investigation I have discovered that a British family travelling with Royal Caribbean did something similar and had to call relations in the UK to phone Royal Caribbean so someone could rescue them!
