Royal Caribbean testing seafood restaurant

One of Royal Caribbean’s more popular eateries is being given a test overhaul on Radiance of the Seas for the upcoming Alaska cruise season.

Passengers looking for Mexican speciality restaurant Rita’s Cantina will instead be presented with a new seafood proposition called Rita’s Crabshack.

According to royalcaribbeanblog.com, the newly converted establishment will be located in the Windjammer area of the vessel, where Rita’s Cantina used to be.

The menu includes seafood dishes such as Alaskan King Crab, Chunky Seafood Chowder and Crab Cakes, as well as fish and chips.

The new menu also includes craft beers from the Alaskan Brewery Company for a more authentic eating experience that reflects what the region has to offer.

It is yet to be seen if the move will be permanent, but passenger feedback suggests that Rita’s Cantina was not the most popular establishment on Radiance of the Seas during the last winter cruise season in Alaska.

At the same time, the cruise season also overlaps with the very short window for Alaskan King Crab fishing, which tends to last less than a month.
