MSC Cruises have today announced that the MSC Opera will move its homeport over to Havana, Cuba for the Winter 2015-16 season, offering guests cruises around the Cuban islands and the Caribbean.
The brand new itinerary will include visits to Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Mexico and even two nights in the Cuban capital!
Gianni Onorato, MSC Cruises’ Chief Executive Officer beamed with pride as he spoke about the new itinerary; “We are particularly proud to make this exciting new destination available to our guests. For this, I wish to personally thank all those who worked with us over the past several months to make it possible for MSC Cruises to launch Cuba as a destination to its guests. In particular, I wish to thank the Ministers of Transportation and Tourism of the Cuban Government and their representatives for their continued, highly professional contribution.”
The sailings will be available for UK guests starting Thursday 9th July.
In addition to this, MSC Cruises are partnering with Cubanacan to provide guests with experienced tours and accommodation for the best possible holiday experience to their guests.
The very first cruise in this itinerary will depart from Havana on 22nd December this year, following MSC Opera’s Grand Voyage from Genoa to Cuba. If you’re staying aboard the ship during the Grand Voyage you will be happy to know there will be plenty of time to explore the capital city.
With a UNESCO World Heritage Site, amazing culture and stunningly unique architecture a Cuban cruise is one you won’t want to miss out on!
