Get Ready…Harmony Is Almost Here!

It isn’t long to wait now until the official launch of the world’s largest cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas, and us at www.CRUISE.co.uk are extremely excited to announce that we will be live from the launch in Southampton tomorrow!

The newest addition to Royal Caribbean’s fleet at 66 metres wide was delivered by the STX  France shipyard last week with a traditional delivery and flag changing ceremony in the ship’s AquaTheatre. It is now ready for its inaugural cruise from Southampton on May 22nd before it departs a week later for Barcelona, beginning its cruises in the Mediterranean.

Harmony will carry a grand total of 5,489 passengers with an additional 2000 crew members to assist guests over 17 decks and seven neighbourhood’s. Amongst the neighbourhood concept, passengers will find the ship’s own high street, Central Park that features 12,000 plant species, a 1,400-seat theatre playing musicals like Grease and the Ultimate Abyss that Royal Caribbean has named the world’s biggest ship-mounted slide.

It has taken 2,500 workers at STX France a total of some 10 million work hours to completely finish the vessel after the work began in September 2013. The shipyard has another eleven ships lined up for the next decade and are still working on a sister ship to Harmony of the Seas: a yet-to-be-named Oasis class vessel that will join Royal Caribbean’s fleet in 2018.

So, we want to know… are there any questions you have about Harmony? What would you like us to find out for you when we’re on-board? We’ll be wandering around all the neighbourhoods and finding out every detail you’re most interested in! Leave us your comments and questions below…
