Ushuaia Cruises

Ushuaia enjoys a spectacularly beautiful setting, surrounded by crisp pine forests, stark white glaciers and sparkling bays. It’s the gateway to the Beagle Channel, fringed by the southernmost tip of the Andes Mountains. It’s the most southern city in the world, giving Ushuaia a distinct atmosphere that seems poised for adventure at any time! Spend your time skiing down the Andean slopes, hiking through the Tierra del Fuego, or scuba diving in deep Atlantic waters. It’s known as the End of the World, but there’s plenty of life in Ushuaia’s bustling cafes and intriguing maritime museums!

USHUAIA - DID YOU KNOW?

Visit the Museo Maritimo y Presidio if you want to tick Ushuaia’s top sights off your list. This museum is housed in the town’s former prison, offering an overview of the region’s history ranging
from a look at its original Yamana inhabitants all the way up to the Falklands War and present-day tourism industry. You can tour former prison cells, visit an onsite art gallery, and pick up a souvenir in the gift shop. Another way to learn more about Ushuaia’s heritage is by taking the steam train that follows the route used by prisoners being transported to the region. You’ll pass through replicas of Yamana camps, and includes stop-offs at scenic viewpoints. You can’t visit this southern region without seeing a penguin or two! Sail through the Beagle Channel
to Martillo Island’s Penguin Rookery home to a colony of playful Magellanic penguins. The journey itself is quite scenic, making this a popular shore excursion. The Beagle Channel is famous for its wildlife, so you may spot whales and dolphins along the way. Do you prefer to explore on foot? Visit the Tierra del Fuego National Park, which sits along the border of Argentina and Chile. There are over 150,000 acres of pristine woodland just begging to be explored, with crystal-clear rivers, lakes, and streams dotting this mountainous landscape.
