Was it a big win??

So this weekend saw the annual day at the races with my girlfriends.  We guarantee to always have a great day and this year was true to form.

The weather was on our side on Saturday and was kind to us all day.  You can’t beat sitting outside with your friends in the sun drinking Pimm’s and having a good laugh – it’s good for your soul..

Now we are not big betters – to be honest we don’t really know much about it so we just pick out names that mean something to us.  We decided to bet on all the races at the beginning of the day so we didn’t have to keep going up before each race to bet.  The first race we came first, second was a disaster, the next race we came 2^nd so things were looking up!!  As the afternoon wore on we were taking less interest in the races, it was a good job we put all our bets on at the beginning.  We now had no idea if we were winners or losers by the end of the day, so when a couple of the girls went to get our winnings (that’s if we had any) we really didn’t know what to expect.

They came back to the group all very serious asking if anyone had ID because we had won big – let’s just say they played the trick well and fooled us for a bit, and eventually they cracked when we were all hunting for ID in our bags – so it turned out we won £28.40 between the 7 of us!! Oh well there is always next year!!

The evening usually ends with a Take That Tribute band but we were advised “due to technical problems” they are unable to perform, it turns out the group had performed their sound check in the morning and decided to have a few beers in the day and were too intoxicated to perform on the evening – how true this is I really don’t know

It certainly didn’t ruin our day and can’t wait for the next one!
