Wow what a week the Caribbean has had. It must have been so terrifying for everyone caught up in Hurricane Irma. I have followed it closely this week and feel so sad for the people out there experiencing what must have been a very scary situation. Now its time for the big clean-up operation! For the people on the small Caribbean Islands this may take years. They have lost so much, not just their homes but also businesses too.
Royal Caribbean sent ships to help with the evacuation of tourists stranded and also helped local people to safety. The ships have brought with them supplies such as water, ice, garbage bags, clothes and tinned food. It seems stranded passengers are being taken to Puerto Rico for an onward flight home. Its great to see Royal Caribbean are doing their bit – Well done!!
I love the Caribbean and have visited some of the islands effected in February of this year. I just pray that they can restore these beautiful islands quickly and be able to welcome tourists back as with many local residents their main source of income. Comes from cruse passengers.
Cruise lines are keeping passengers informed as soon as they can with regards to any forthcoming itinerary changes. The situation is being monitored very closely and we will inform any changes to our passengers as soon as we hear.
