Some exciting news was announced this week by Cunard and P&O in conjunction with Azamara.
Lets start with Cunard, to mark their 50th anniversary of the naming of the much loved QE2 they are launching a new ship in 2022. She will join the Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria. The ship will be built in Italy and will carry 3000 passengers, so will be the largest ship in their fleet. I am quite excited about this and think it will be very popular and I am sure the maiden voyage will be a sell out. Of course www.cruise.co.uk will be on the ball when we get further details so keep your eyes peeled. Wouldn’t it be great if all 4 ships shared a momentous occasion and all sailed out at the same time!!
Now onto P&O and Azamara who have announced Azamara will be launching their third ship next year as they have purchased the ever favourite P&O Adonia ship. There has been speculation over the past couple of weeks as to why P&O hadnt released the summer 2019 programme for the Adonia and now we know why. Azamara are a luxury cruise line that offers small boutique style ships, the ships are smaller in size so can visit ports that the big ships can’t. Azamara is all about destination and with more and more people wanting to visit smaller more intimate ports I think this is a great move for Azamara.
