Last weekend will stay with me forever. My sister and I flew out to Spain early Friday morning to surprise our Mom for her birthday. She really didn’t have a clue. We were only out there for 2 nights but it was so worth it.
We took the early flight from Birmingham Friday morning, got a taxi from the airport to the Bungalow. We arrived at about 11.30, we asked the taxi driver to drop us at the bottom of the road so we could try and sneak up without her seeing us. All was going well, my Dad managed to keep her at home (they were due to go to the beech for the day and she was getting itchy feet), just as we reached the bungalow my mom who was sitting on the veranda decided to go inside and this is when she saw us. She was absolutely gobsmacked her little face was a picture it was such a special moment, something I will cherish forever.
A quick change we then headed to the beach for the day, just the 4 of us. It must be over 30 years since it was just the 4 of us on holiday. We spent the whole day on the beach and then headed out on the evening for a lovely meal, drinks and making some very special memories.
The next day was pretty much the same, a great relaxing day on the beach, sampling some Gin cocktails and then again a lovely evening meal. Out flight on the Sunday was in the afternoon, so we got up nice and early and went into Alicante. I have been coming to Spain for many years but for some reason (probably because I usually come with the children) I have never actually been into Alicante. I have to say it was beautiful, especially the harbour and the beach.
My Dad then took us to the airport for our flight home, we really didn’t want to go back we have such a fantastic time.
